National Panchayati Raj Day
Jammu, 24/04/2018: On National Panchayat Raj Day,
All Jammu and Kashmir Panchayat Conference once again reiterated its appeal to
the union and state government to ensure empowered panchayti Raj Institutions
in the State.
Anil Sharma, the president of the organization in a
press statement said that it is so unfortunate that when on this important day
entire country celebrating National Panchayti Raj Day, here in J & K we
have no such institutions left as elections are due and the state government
appears to be least interested in holding these elections.
Sharma said that without empowering PRIs, we cannot
ensure peace and prosperity in the state.
He also paid tributes to the martyred panchayat
members of the state who have been martyred at the hands of terrorists and
demanded ex gratia for their family
members.
